The company bought a 90,371-square-foot building on 6.1 acres at 116 Wilbur Place, located next door to its existing 30,000-square-foot building at 110 Wilbur. It aims to relocate to the new facility by June 2021.  The recently acquired facility results in an 80 percent increase in the company’s physical presence in New York State.

With the additional space, the company can expand its engineering, production, test and quality and assembly and manufacturing operations.  It will also permit these functions to be housed under one roof, with sales and marketing, human resources, IT and the leadership team.

“We recognize that aerospace is a key sector in our economy, and we are pleased that North Atlantic Industries has decided to grow their business here in Islip,” John Walser, executive director of the Town of Islip Industrial Development Agency, said in a statement.

“The Town of Islip IDA can help businesses remain and grow, here in Islip.  The NAI expansion is a shining example of that,” Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter said in a statement.

With the new facility, NAI aims to expand R&D to scale the company’s Configurable Open Systems Architecture and to leverage its vertically integrated design, manufacturing and verification capabilities.
